Teaching the love of dance

Meet Miss Sophie Lovett
Head Director, Certified Teacher | AAC,ADTA, AF, TCD,
Sophie honed her craft across a diverse range of dance disciplines, including acro, jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Her versatility as a dancer has been showcased in performances such as the Russian Ballet’s Nutcracker, where she portrayed a Spanish dancer, as well as in competitions throughout British Columbia and internationally. In 2023, Sophie represented Team Canada in Mexico for Acro dance, earning two gold medals on the international stage.
As a certified instructor with credentials from Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility, and the Acro Dance Teachers Association, Sophie brings a strong emphasis on proper technique and safe training practices to all of her classes. She combines this technical expertise with years of teaching experience and award-winning choreography.
Sophie founded Lovett Dance with a mission to create an inclusive and supportive space, one where dancers of all backgrounds feel valued and safe to express themselves. Her studio emphasizes personal growth as much as artistic development, confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of community. Under Sophie’s leadership, Lovett Dance has become a place where students grow not only as dancers, but as individuals.
Miss Sophie is a well rounded, highly trained, and professional teacher. She is very respectful and responsible with her time. She nurtures each student to become the best dancer they can be. She is highly organized and well loved by everyone she meets. Working with Sophie has been a fantastic experience

Team Canada World Champion
Representing Canada at the first IDO World Acrobatic Championships in 2023
Following her audition in March 2022, Sophie called her mom to let her know not to get her hopes up. The auditions had no shortage of talented dancers flexing their skills for a spot on Team Canada’s 2023 Adult Acro Team, and Sophie was sure she hadn’t made the cut. Two months later, she was shocked to learn that she had made the roster and would be sharing the stage with several of those same dancers. More shock would follow when the next summer, Sophie and her team celebrated two wins, making them the first IDO World Acrobatic Champions.

Phenomenal Teacher
All 3 of my children had the privilege to experience Miss Sophie’s teaching at Krush Dance Studio in Ashcroft. Sophie creates a magical space full of joy and laughter, bringing enthusiasm for the art form and sincere consideration for the needs of each individual child. She has the innate ability to both challenge and positively encourage my children to improve their performance as well as expand their own artistic ideas. Because of her patience, dedication, and instruction, my children have experienced significant growth as dancers.
